Frances has a diverse background in various artistic mediums, including pen and ink, clay sculpting, and bronze work. Her artistic journey began in childhood with coloring, drawing, scrapbooking, and making mud pies. She pursued formal art education at the Maryland Institute College of Art in her twenties, favoring pen and ink. In her thirties, she moved to Evergreen, Colorado, and joined the Tom Ware(house) Group, exploring clay sculpting. In her late forties and fifties, she developed a passion for carving stone. She attended many marble symposiums in Marble, CO carving Colorado Yule Marble. Her sixties delved into bronze work, creating a mask for her brother's headstone. Now in her late 70s, retired from her 40-year business, Frances enjoys various art forms, with stone and clay/bronze sculptures being her true passion, often inspired by her Rocky Mountain surroundings and hiking adventures. She has received recognition, awards, and collectors for her artwork.
